Orthotic Services

Picture
Many conditions that chiropractors encounter are a result of foot or gait abnormalities.  The foot can have a direct impact on the rest of the body, especially the lower limb joints.  Thus a seemingly insignificant misalignment or abnormality in the foot can result in, or contribute to, a much greater effect on joints further up in the body.  This can then result in pain or discomfort in the low back,  hip joints, knees, ankles, or feet themselves.

The chiropractors at Milner Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinic are trained in analyzing and fitting patients for Custom Orthotic Insoles or Custom Orthotic Footwear.  Utilizing either Computerized Gait Analysis or Foam Mould Imprints, precise information is gathered for each patient and his or her unique specifications and biomechanical needs.   Partnering with two specific labs with proven track records for effective, consistent, and reasonably priced foot correction, custom orthotic insoles or footwear are then constructed.

Through various sporting activities and simply from day-to-day walking and standing, particularly on hard surfaces or while wearing high heels or pointy shoes, our feet take a serious pounding throughout our lives .  Orthotics and footwear are therefore important for the ongoing good health of our entire bodies from the time we are young, right through to our senior years.  It is thus of great importance to address any conditions that exist in the feet.

Common ailments related to poor foot biomechanics are:
• Plantar Fasciitis
• Achilles Tendonitis
• Shin Splints
• Runner’s Knee
• Metatarsalgia
• Iliotibial Band Syndrome
• Sacroiliac Syndrome
• Patello-Femoral Syndrome
• Bunions
• Low Back Pain
